Usually you only need to grant permission for "Remote filesystem Expose" in android, after that install winscp on windows and then right click kde connect in system tray and select "browse device". It will automatically open winscp. But right now when i click browse device it didn't do anything. [deleted]
Right click on the Remote header in the Places panel on Dolphin. Click on "add entry". Give it a name (something like " SMB Share ") In the "location" input, type in your SMB server location (e.g.: smb:///folder) Choose an icon and validate. Now you should see that icon under your personal folder on the left, just click on it and Then do the same phone test with the Steam Deck desktop mode. Being wired, you shouldn't be impacted by wireless isolation modes. But if you've multiple wired routers & switches like I do (homelab here), you should also be aware of anything that's doubled NAT'd (vs bridged). same behavior between my phone and Win 11. In System Settings look for Windows Shares. It should ask for a username and password. Put anything in (I currently have user:a/pass:b). Close Dolphin. Re-open and try your shares again. It worked for me. Hopefully it does for you. It's an odd one. 9. KDE connect SMS not working. I'm running the latest update on Kubuntu, and KDE connect works great in every way, except the sms option. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+, and I've tried getting it to work with both the stock app and google messages app, and both times I end up stuck on this screen: 8. 14. 14 comments. Add a Comment. KDE Connect is also available for SailfishOS via sailfish-connect and we are working on bringing it to other Linux-based phones (Plasma Mobile, PostmarketOS etc.) See KDE Connect download page for installation links for other platforms (including Windows and macOS).

Not sure if you are familiar with KDE Connect but it basically gives you control of your phone from your PC and vice versa. The "Your Phone" app isn't the solution I was hoping for and requires Bluetooth for calls, doesn't have file management, If you copy text to the clipboard in Windows, it should appear in the "Paste" on your phone, and vice-versa. Have someone call/text your phone, does Windows 11 show a notification? Then do the same phone test with the Steam Deck desktop mode. Being wired, you shouldn't be impacted by wireless isolation modes.
I’m sorry, but I’m not familiar with Windows - and especially not KDE Connect on Windows, but I’ll try to help anyway: When KDE Connect is connected to the phone, it uses a service process called kdeconnectd. It appears that there was a similar issue, at least in the past, and I believe it was the service process crashing.
The KDE Connect team is working on a temporary solution for this, which will probably be to use a text entry somewhere in the app or an app notification to share clipboard data. The clipboard can be accessed, just not in the background. I can't find an open bug for it at the moment, but there is a WIP merge request on KDE's GitLab for this.
After I installed portmaster my kdeconnct stopped working.I allowed LAN in incoming and outgoing global rule but still not working. I'm on Windows 10 comment sorted by Best Top New Controversial Q&A Add a Comment

It would be really helpful if someone using the run commands feature on windows 10 and made it work. Thanks. update: Done. we can run the commands if we use the powershell in our commands. for eg: powershell.exe -noexit py ""E:\script.py"";kdeconnect-cli -d $ (kdeconnect-cli -a --id-only) --share ""E:\image.png"";exit. update : checked on I don't know but kde connect crashes each time I try to change the directory settings. For a while I couldn't send anything to my phone and to fix this issue I had to downgrade to a year old version and theme upgrade. It's really weird. You probably restored KDEConnect in your phone through backup and it's sending a conflicting device id. To solve this, go to the app information tab in the android settings, and clear its saved data and cache. Pair again and it won't get unpaired anymore. [deleted] • 5 yr. ago.
Not the same. KDE connect and Join and all those are getting you to push links from one device to another. KDE also has a remote feature that lets you control your computer with your phone but I couldnt get it to work with Soduto or on Win10 when I tried late last yr. Continuity is meant to work without user interaction.
Brand new Pixel 6. Trying to get KDE Connect working. Worked fine on my Pixel 4a but now when I try to pair, the phone is able to see the computer and vice versa. When I pair though, it seems to work but immediately the Android app says "This paired device is not reachable." Now it’s time to connect an Android device to the Windows desktop. I was initially offered the connection to my Linux workstation. On the Android device, KDE Connect should show the Windows device under Available Devices. A click on it asks for pairing, which then has to be confirmed under Windows. Then the Android device should be displayed Hi, yesterday i installed kde connect from the microsoft store and my android device, but it does not recognize any devices (ethernet connection on windows pc and wifi on android phone) i opened the ports on my modem and added and exception of those ports at windows firewall (maybe i did that wrong) I also tried to connect with the up from my phone but it doesn't work (maybe it was the wrong Drat! Not working for me. My iPhone (14 Pro Max) sees my PC bluetooth (Asus Z690 Extreme) , but will not connect (pairing unsuccessful). Nor will it connect just by Unison trying to connect. Can't tell if its a Win 11 thing, as the bluetooth page behaves a little wonkily, nor does it find my iPhone, or a bluetooth motherboard thing. .
