If you want a great dirt tire that grips the pavement good too, Pirelli 90/10s. However, good luck getting 3-4k miles out of them. If you want a super long lasting tire consider K60 Scouts. I got 14k miles on mine (150/70 R18 tubeless) riding like a hooligan every chance I get on a 790 ADV R, and they probably had 2-3k left.
The 1190 Adventure R is without doubt the twin-cylinder enduro with the greatest offroad ability. Period. Ignore the manual. Every manufacture of adventure bikes quotes a "recommended" pressure which iwa sway way way too high. On a bike like the 1290, you push it and with the torque it has the tyres get hot and the pressures go even higher. Experiment with lower pressures rather than swapping out the tyres.
With full dirt-ready wheels - 21-inch front, 18-inch rear - the 2016 KTM 1190 Adventure R is designed as the ultimate dirt adventure bike.
The 1190 retains a modified version of the 48mm WP fork and shock of old, while the power has increased from 114hp (on the 990 Adventure introduced in 2006) to 150hp, by using the engine from the RC8 superbike. Although the weight has increased by 12.5kg over the 990 Adventure the new 217kg 1190 is equally as offroad-worthy as the models of old.

The only issue they had after the change to 17'' was the speedometer. As KTM does not approve the change, they wouldn't help with a software update for the speedo or instructions on how to change the wheelsize. It appears that you can't simply change the wheel size in the ECU like on previous models.

Regardless of what tyre you run off road the 1190 has more than enough power to break it loose, I really liked the Motoz off road, it always had grip, way more than an MT90 and it doesn't look like it's been attacked by rubber eating Piranha's after a day spinning up on gravel roads.
